Privacy

Qurany has no account, no analytics and no ads. What you read, mark, memorise and write stays on your device. Here is exactly what stays, what can leave, and why.

What can leave, and why

  • Recitation audio

Fetched from everyayah.com when you play something you have not downloaded. Nothing about you is sent.

    When you play
  • Exact prayer times

If you turn it on, your approximate location (about a kilometre) is sent to aladhan.com to get the times. Otherwise the times are worked out on your device.

    Optional
  • Reciting aloud

If you turn it on, your voice is sent to Apple, only while you recite, so Qurany can check it.

    Optional
  • Account and tracking

There is none: no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising identifier.

Sync and backup

If you want the Mac and the iPhone to stay in step, you choose a folder and the app keeps a small file for each device there. You choose where that folder lives, and we run no server. You can also export everything as one file and import it later.

This website

It sets no cookies and loads no tracker. Its fonts come from the site itself. Your light or dark choice is remembered in your browser and nowhere else. The prayer demo works out times in your browser; if you press "Use my location", your browser asks first and the position is not sent anywhere.

Starting over

In the app, Settings lets you reset settings, or delete your progress and notes for good. Export first if you may want them back.

If this changes

Any change will be written on this page with its date.
